Most fashionistas that have been around a bit know of caLLie cLine and her various fashion lines within Second Life. I have always known Callie as an outstanding designer that provides quality affordable items.

Something Second Life residents take for granted is that it takes some serious grit to continue to produce content for years on end. A great deal of talented designers burn out and are lost to the sands of time, along with them their ability and innovation.

Like any other Fashionista, Callie has had to earn her stripes with hard work, determination and a splash of eye shadow. For this my hats off to you Callie.

Available through the caLLie cLine group is a tank top that I will be on my way to get shortly. There is an excellent back story to this piece but I will leave that reading to be done directly on her blog.

That’s right you can own the former playground of the S.L. Super band SpaceJunky!

SpaceJunky have been featured on CNN International, a remix contest with Sony Acid Planet featured in numerous magazines and websites,as well as doing 100s of shows across the grid and are the winners

of the Stream Scene Award for Best Band. Now a lucky fan can own the Sim with most of the original build. The Sim is a gorgeous floating crystal city called Planet 7 and is home to some of Second Life’s top fashion designers, builders and artists and includes sacred geometry with healing temples, waterfalls and beaches. The new owner might even get to keep Shakti’s secret sky house, a beautiful Egyptian Pyramid.

Shakti Cianci is entertaining all serious offers and if you are interested you should contact her directly via note card with your offer after exploring the Sim which is also featured in Showcase.

Shakti says the band is not leaving S.L., just ceasing to be landowners so they have more time to devote to other projects and concerts throughout the grid.

Recently I returned from a lengthy break to find that some things have changed in fundmental ways, others are as they always have been.

I am a fashion hag so after some visits with friends of mine and catching up on what I had missed I let the shopping begin. Oh what fancy diversions and frivious delights. I ended up at N-core headquarters where the peep toe shoes of the decade waited for me to purchase them.

Known as the Prelude Platform these outstanding little peep toes feature scripts that allow you to alter parts of it such as the shoe sole color, the shine of the shoe, the toe nail color, the size of the shoe. and since the foot inside the shoe is not really your foot it is flawless and easily tone adjustable to match just about any skin out there. For just L$595 their a steal

On occasion I am prone to a momentary walk down memory lane and today is just such an occasion. I have something like almost three years in SL which makes me somewhat of a fossil. So anyway as I logged in today I couldn’t help but think back to November or December of 2006 when I launched the very first issue of SL Vogue Magazine. Back then there were two or three other in world publications and maybe one or two other web based ones.

SL Vogue Magazine had a good run but as is the rule of thumb all things come to an end and I lost my Graphic designer to serious illness. This isn’t your typical I’m “sick” excuses I spoke with her regularly on the phone. I was admittedly distraught and ended up closing the company. A short four or five months later I managed to gather up the gusto to get things moving again. It wasn’t but two or three months later that I found out that Ammon Pera had created a men’s version of SL Vogue Magazine and was sniping members from other peoples groups. Ironically I found out through people who were thanking me for creating a men’s Vogue magazine, one could imagine my initial confusion.

What transpired from there was something of a war where some fact and some fiction were brought to light and I found myself the target of greifer attacks and a fair amount if Libel. It has always been my belief that one does not reach true fame until they are both A. known and B. attacked

Well almost needless to say but added anyways was a monetary trail of disaster where Ammon managed to embezzle steal and trick his way through hundreds of thousands of Lindens through elaborate schemes and sinister contests. Not many will ever understand the true level of discredit Ammon caused within the publication industry of Second Life and much like the holocaust some will choose to never believe it happened. Well anyway my trip down memory lane brought me not being able to resist giving Ammons site a click just to see what the pud was up to these days. Turns out not much, which is just as well, since he isn’t missed.

Recently a topic came to mind that I felt could be fairly insightful. How many times have you cursed a particular designer to future fits of lag because you favorite clothing items from different outfits share common layers and can not be mixed.

The ability to mix and match clothing items in both real life and Second Life, is what makes fashion so personal, it is what allows us to be unique and to make our wardrobe work for us. So why is it that the majority of designers are not giving us our outfits in various layers?

Several things such as bandwidth allocation settings, Avatar borne scripts such as color change shoes, Avatar borne prims and inventory size all affect your playing experience. Anyway giving us each item in several layers will allow us the flexability to mix and match and thus allow us to personalize our wardrobe and make it work for us. on the downside our inventory lists will jump in size about ten fold, is it a worthwhile trade off?

Throughout Second Life history there has been many types of cigarettes, unfortunatly most of them use the same smoking animation from ages ago. I know what your thinking, smoking has nothing to do with fashion. Wrong!

From the time the first pack hit the stores until the late fifties, and especially in the forties, smoking was an icon for beauty and elegance. It is the style of that era that translates into the modern draw the smoking still has.

Today KMADD released yet another fine product, an unknowing tribute to the classic style that carried the industry to it’s current day level. The MADD Designs Smoke poses will add that bad boy flare to any fashion forward look. Check them out over at KMADD City.

As most of you know, SpaceJunky has been working with Sony reciently, for the release of their Acid Planet music creation tool.

I attended their release party where DJ Chris and Loch spun the tunes for us as we partied into the wee morning hours. It was quite an event and they even had a raffle ball, which was great as I won several real life products. YAY!

Chris864 Koba, pictured above is known to be a Second Life party junky and for that night the official DJ.

The crowd and I, just dancing the night away.
